Linking Token for MFA (Android)

1. Locate the "Play Store" on your android device


2. In the Play Store, search for "Token2 NFC Burner 2"


The domain for students is @go.minnstate.edu. For employees, it is @minnstate.edu. Make sure the correct domain is applied when the end user logs in.

3. Next, go to this link "https://account.activedirectory.windowsazure.com/Proofup.aspx". You will be prompted to enter your login credential. The login credential is as follow:


4. The password is the end-user's StarID Password.


After successfully logging in, it may or may not give you a notification message on the screen stating that "More information is required". If it does, go ahead and click on "Next".

5. Once you’re logged in and at this page, select the checkbox to the left of “Authentication app or token” and click on “Set up Authenticator app


6. At the next screen, select "Configure app without notifications"


The QR code on the screen will switch.

7. Open up the Token2 NFC Burner app that you installed earlier and select "Scan QR".



8. After scanning the QR code, a seed will automatically populate in the Token2 NFC Burner app under the "Input Seed (HEX)".


9. Grab the token, turn it on by pressing the power button, and place it underneath your phone towards the top or the middle.


10. Click on the "connect" button within the Token2 NFC Burner app.


11. Once you've done step 9, click on the "BURN SEED" button.


12. Once the burn has been successful, there will be a message that says “send successfully applied” to confirm. Go back to the MFA setup page, and click the “next” button.


13. Click “verify now” to continue the process of setting up the token


14. Turn on the token again, and there will be a 6-digit number display. Enter that 6-digit number into the white box and click “verify”. You may need to turn off the token and turn it back on to repeat this process 1 more time if it gives you an error message.


15. Once successful, you’ll see that there is a device named “authenticator app” is now under your profile.
