Power Up! Lecturing with Your LMS
If you are reading this, it is highly likely you already up your lecture routine and are looking for ways to continue to change your lecture delivery. Congratulations! You are indeed developing a growth-mindset. If you are teaching on-line courses, your learning management system (LMS) is a great tool box to help you complement your course content.
- LMS Power: For example, you can provide links to multimedia or include a discussion board on the topic of your session through your LMS to enrich and provide context for your lecture.
- Messaging: You can send out weekly messages to help prepare your learners for the upcoming content.
- Video-Review Session: Based on feedback, you believe learnings could benefit from additional review of a specific topic. Great, you can use Zoom, or some other form of video conference system to include either a live review session or record a review session.
- Short Videos: If you notice there are specific areas the learners struggle to grasp, create short videos to reinforce the concepts. The videos can be paused, reviewed, replayed as needed.
No matter what activity you try, embrace the discomfort. It is a sign of growth!
