Use your computer to post a video response to a D2L BrightSpace discussion
If your instructor asks you to record a video response to a Discussion post in your online course, follow these simple steps using Kaltura MediaSpace to respond.
Instructions
- Record the video
- Mobile:
- Record the video on your phone as you normally would
- Go to Kaltura MediaSpace (https://mediaspace.minnstate.edu/)
- Log in with your StarID and password
- Click on the "+" symbol then "Media Upload"
- Choose the video from your phone
- Give it a name and Save it
- Laptop/Computer:
- Log in with your StarID and password
- Click on Add New
- Record using Kaltura Express (webcam only) or Kaltura Capture (webcam+screencast)
- Navigate to your D2L BrightSpace course
- Open up the Discussion Topic
- Click "Start a New Thread" and enter a subject
- In the body, click on the "Insert Stuff" button
- Click on My Media
- Find your video and click Embed
- Click Insert
- Click Post
Caption Your Video
Kaltura MediaSpace will automatically generate captions for your video but you
must edit them to make sure they are accurate.
Navigate to Kaltura MediaSpace, log in with your Star ID and password and follow these instructions.Want to Use a Phone Instead?
